Remembering my first international sale. Picnic Rag Quilt, Moda, Oh Deer, Colorful, Handmade, Patchwork Quilt

I will never forget my very first international sale. A woman from Adelaide, South Australia commissioned a picnic sized quilt for her little daughter Alba. She ordered Moda's Oh Deer collection, one of my absolute favorite fabric lines, in fact it was the very first fabric collection I purchased for my shop because I just loved all of the fun and cheery patterns.I was thrilled to make a quilt for someone on the other side of the globe! Since that sale, I have sold several quilts to Canada, and most recently to Bermuda!

Baby Crib Quilt Custom Handcrafted Patchwork - Joel Dewberry, Heirloom in Citrine

Now that the cooler weather has arrived and the holidays are right around the corner, I decided to change up the crib rag quilt with a traditional patchwork quilt, but instead of using cotton muslin for the back, I used this really nice, thick and oh so soft minky dot fabric in cream. The quilt is so soft, plush and cuddly, I can't stand it!
I just love the traditional patchwork look too but with these bright and modern patterns. This quilt is ready to ship and you can find it here. I can also make this style with any of my other collections. This is a really nice winter quilt whereas the rag quilt style is much lighter and good for the rest of the year. I can't wait to make one of these in each of my collections.

Rag Quilt, King Sized, Hawaiian Style

This quilt was quite the labor of love, my largest undertaking to date, a King sized Hawaiian styled rag quilt with matching shams for my wonderful sister in law as a thank you for gifting me her old DSLR camera! Thank you Alissa!

I conquered it and I am not afraid of a 96" x 105" quilt and I am ready for my next request!
